Who needs CPR or BLS certification?
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required to work in the healthcare careers and it includes learning Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) which is an essential skill for everyone. CPR training is an effective way to improve the safety of your community by adding life support expertise to the collective pool of knowledge. Knowing how to give CPR can be the difference between life and death in a cardiac emergency. Additionally, BLS certification is a valued skill, and employers may be willing to pay more for those with the certification. People that may benefit the from CPR training include:
Parents
Lifeguards
Emergency medical technicians (EMTs)
Flight attendants
Coaches
Firefighters
Police officers
Babysitters
Our AHA-approved CPR/BLS training class prepares you to face cardiac emergencies with confidence, whether you are attending to an adult, child, or infant. The skills learned in BLS can be used in any environment without any special equipment, and CPR can be performed by anyone! A cardiac emergency can happen at any time, so it’s always best to be prepared.
Who should get an ACLS certification?
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is a certification recommended for doctors, nurses, paramedics and EMTs, dentists, medical assistants, and medical students. ACLS training is more specific to medical professionals, as the skills require special medications and equipment that are not available to the public.
This ACLS certification course is approved by the American Heart Association and requires a valid Basic Life Support certification to participate & it will take 8 hours to receive your ACLS certificate.
How do I renew my CPR/BLS or ACLS Certification?
Renewing your certification is easy, you just need to retake a certification class. CPR/BLS certifications are valid for one year, so you’ll need to renew it every year to remain current. ACLS certifications are valid for two years before expiration.
Ideally, you’ll want to renew your certification before it expires, but it’s no problem if you choose to renew after the expiration.
Both CPR/BLS and ACLS classes have 4-hour recertification times, though they are different classes.
